Overview
The young French cellist was winning important prizes as a teenager, with successes in the Rostropovich Competition in Paris and the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. Together with his fellow-countryman pianist, he takes ontwo substantial sonatas from the Romantic period,plus a piece Schumann wrote for clarinet withalternatives including the cello.
