Overview

A leading tenor and pianist join with the admired quartet for Vaughan Williams’s 1909 song cycle setting poems by AE Housman, and Fauré’s own arrangement of his 1892-4 Verlaine cycle for the same unusual forces – the latter version premièring in London, with the composer at the piano.
