Overview

For the season’s first BBC Radio 3 lunchtime concert, a leading British exponent of Beethoven joins with the Norwegian ensemble for an unusual performance of the Fourth Piano Concerto in an arrangement by the German composer Vinzenz Lachner (1811-93) – a conservative musician who struck up a friendship with Brahms.
