Overview
Founded in Katowice in 1978, the ensemble has built up a repertoire including some 300 works written since 1900, more than 100 of which it has premièred. Among these is Alexander Lasoń’s quartet (2000), written in praise of a town in the Silesian highlands; assisted by the Polish pianist, they also champion earlier works by composers of Polish birth.
