Overview

In demand across the world, Ermonela Jaho is best known for her portrayals of Verdi and Puccini’s heroines. She returns to her bel canto roots in a recital of rare songs by Gaetano Donizetti, alongside a selection by his contemporaries, with Opera Rara’s Artistic Director and pianist Carlo Rizzi. Jaho and Rizzi will explore repertoire that has been recently restored and rarely, if ever, performed. This recital is a part of the multi-year Donizetti Song Project, which will see Opera Rara record and perform the composer’s entire solo song output – nearly 200 in total, of which many have never been heard before.

Promoted by Opera Rara.

This Opera Rara recital is generously supported by Elena Baturina in loving memory of Yury Luzhkov.
With additional support from the Colwinston Charitable Trust, Cockayne Grants for the Arts and London Community Foundation.
The Donizetti Song Project is supported by the Opera Rara Donizetti Syndicate.
