Overview
The great Cornish baritone died in July this year. An all rounder like very few, his career encompassed opera, concert, song, folk song, teaching, directing, tv presenting and narrating. A wonderful group of his contemporaries and leading singers of today will come together to celebrate him through words and music.
Programme to include words by great British musical figures, including Dame Janet Baker, Sir Thomas Allen, Sir Bryn Terfel, David Willison, Petroc Trelawny and Sir Mark Elder, as well as recordings of Benjamin Luxon himself.
We will also hear a special performance of Vaughan Williams' Serenade to Music performed by leading singers and musicians.
