    Overview

With its enigmatic changes of mood, Beethoven’s late String Quartet in B flat stands among the great peaks of musical Romanticism. Jörg Widmann’s Eighth Quartet, completed in 2020, pays tribute to Beethoven in a movement based on the charming ‘German dance’ from Op. 130.
