Long-term collaborators and friends Martin Fröst and Roland Pöntinen begin with Brahms’s mighty First Clarinet Sonata, a work of enormous contrasts, before turning to beguiling works from France, crowned by the wistful lyricism of Saint-Saëns’s Sonata, among his last compositions.
