Overview

Quatour Ébène combines Beethoven’s Op. 18 No. 1, a work of radical inventive brilliance, with a major commission from Raphaël Merlin, its long-serving former cellist. Merlin’s first string quartet takes its title from an exquisite number by jazz bassist and composer Charles Mingus.
