    Overview

    As Protestantism seized 16th-century Europe, the Roman Catholic Counter Reformation took heart from Mary, Mother of God, whose selfless example offered comfort to a world turned upside down. The Cardinall’s Musick presents spellbinding polyphony created in Mary’s honour by some of the greatest Iberian composers of the age.
