    Overview

An enduring and influential presence in Czech musical life for more than 60 years, the Talich Quartet continues to cultivate the great traditions of Czech string playing. They follow Shostakovich’s First String Quartet, which the composer described as ‘joyful, merry, lyrical’, by exploring the folk roots of evergreen works by Dvořák, Janáček, Georges Boulanger and Ivan Vasiliev.
