Alexander Melnikov is joined by a recipient of the State Prize of Russia, cellist Alexander Rudin, presenting a programme including Chopin’s 1846 sonata, one of only nine works he wrote for instruments other than the piano, and Rachmaninov’s most famous piece of chamber music, his Op. 19 sonata.
