Alexei Volodin’s recital encompasses the unrestrained expressive range of Late Romantic Russian piano music.

His Shakespearean-themed first half embraces everything from the fourth of Medtner’s Op. 35 Skazki or ‘Tales’, based on a quote from King Lear, to the vitality and vibrant emotions of Prokofiev’s arrangements of ten pieces from his 1935 ballet Romeo and Juliet.
