The two solo pianists have also enjoyed a career as a duo and in this concert they celebrate its first 50 years. Their partnership has been warmly applauded. In his The Daily Telegraph review of their Schubert CD collection, Anthony Payne described ‘playing of fastidious poetry and elegance,’ in which they managed ‘to communicate their sense of personal enjoyment, bringing a professional attainment without inappropriate gloss.’
