Good humour and playfulness combine with fervent emotions in the ‘Hunt’ Quartet, written in Vienna in the autumn of 1784.
The Armida Quartet, First Prize-winner at the 2012 ARD International Music Competition, moves from Mozart’s genial composition to Beethoven’s ‘Große Fuge’, a work propelled by fierce energy and a Promethean spirit of creative struggle.
