Few works in the chamber music repertoire are as beloved as Schubert’s final chamber work. Completed just two months before the composer’s death, it seems to tap into a deeply personal inner world that has long resonated with audiences. To fulfil the work’s unusual scoring for two cellos, a leading cellist joins the Belcea for today’s performance.
