Formed at what is now the Colburn School in Los Angeles in 2010, the ensemble – currently based in New York – went on to win numerous prizes, including at the 2012 ARD Munich String Quartet Competition, and in 2018 received the highly prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant. Critics have lavished praise on the group’s performances: the New York Times admired its ‘deep reserves of virtuosity and irrepressible dramatic instinct’, while for The Washington Post these ‘four individual musicians … speak, breathe, think and feel as one.’
