Carducci String Quartet
Haydn and Debussy
- Carducci String Quartet
A Sunday morning date with Haydn and Debussy offers the chance for Wigmore Hall’s audience to discover the latest chapter in the Carducci String Quartet’s artistic development.
The Anglo-Irish quartet has been praised for its ‘technical rigour, penetrative musical insight and lively yet unified individualism’, qualities ideally matched to the originality and expressive range of the ‘Rider’ Quartet of 1793. Debussy’s G minor Quartet, completed a century after Haydn’s work, blends classical poise with exoticism and impressionistic harmonies.
