  • Chloë Hanslip violin
  • Danny Driver piano

Chloë Hanslip and Danny Driver are becoming a regular pairing at Wigmore Hall, having performed in both our Autumn and Spring Series. They return this summer for a varied programme which includes Judith Weir’s 1981 Music for 247 Strings, so named because its original performers, Paul Barritt and William Howard, asked Weir to write a piece that was a true duet of violin and piano (the latter of Weir’s having 243 strings), rather than featuring one over the other.

  • Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827)
      • Violin Sonata No. 5 in F Op. 24 'Spring'
  • Judith Weir (b.1954)
      • Music for 247 Strings
  • York Bowen (1884-1961)
      • Romance in D flat
  • Frederick Delius (1862-1934)
      • Violin Sonata in B
