An all-Schumann programme in which an exceptional Lieder exponent joins pianist Lars Vogt for the Eichendorff Liederkreis of 1840 and two ballads to be declaimed to music, both written in 1852: Ballade vom Heideknaben (text by Christian Friedrich Hebbel) and Die Flüchlinge (a translation of Shelley’s The Fugitives). Two of Schumann’s beloved piano trios complete the recital.
