A joint concert given by Clare Addison and Ernest Burton, both of whom would return to give a few further concerts in the forthcoming years. The programme is a charming miscellany of mainly art song and operatic numbers – Burton gave the first hearing at Wigmore Hall of the ever-popular prologue from Pagliacci, and together they sang duets from Donizetti's Don Pasquale and Ambroise Thomas's romantic Hamlet.

Louis Hillier, here giving three performances of his own works, was a Belgian violinist and composer now best remembered for writing the music of Le Chant des Wallons, the national anthem of Wallonia.
