Founded in 1953 by the late Nikolaus Harnoncourt and his wife Alice, the Viennese early music ensemble’s debut Wigmore Hall programme combines the familiar with the unfamiliar, including examples from Heinrich Biber’s Sonatas Suitable for Altar or Court and his Sacred and Profane Fiddle Music.
