As an antecedent to the forthcoming Mahler Day on Saturday 18 July, this programme features an unusual work for Wigmore audiences. Two outstanding British singers join members of an orchestra led with exceptional imagination by its conductor for a traversal of Mahler’s great symphony of songs in composer Iain Farrington’s arrangement for chamber ensemble.
