  • Diana Damrau soprano
  • Maciej Pikulski piano

Internationally admired for her many leading roles in the world’s great opera houses, the German soprano was appointed a Kammersängerin of the Bavarian State Opera in 2005 and since 2010 has also held the Bavarian Maximilian Order for Science and Art. An admired Lieder singer, she has chosen a programme exploring songs from France, Spain and Germany – including works by favourite Richard Strauss, of whom she has said: ‘to be able to sing his music with my voice feels like coming home’.
