Formed in 1998, the Elias String Quartet is renowned worldwide for its lively and mutually responsive music making: ‘few quartets at any stage of their evolution’, wrote the Philadelphia Enquirer, ‘have this much personality’. Together with three exceptional wind players and a double bassist, they perform one of the most companionable works in the entire chamber repertoire.
