Purcell’s Irish connections are stressed in a programme that reminds us that Nahum Tate was born in Dublin; he provided the texts for ‘Come, ye sons of art’ and ‘Great Parent, Hail!’, the latter produced for the centenary in 1694 of Dublin’s Trinity College.
