Founded in 2012, the ensemble is built around a core sextet which performs, commissions, and promotes new music. In 2021 it was awarded the Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung Ensemble Prize and released portrait albums of Oliver Leith and James Weeks. Its programme includes a new work by the British Lawrence Dunn (born 1991), alongside pieces by the acclaimed Scottish composer James Dillon, the experimental Canadian Cassandra Miller, and the admired German Enno Poppe.
