The second concert in November 1901 given by the Slovenian violinist Gabriele Wietrowetz, who had made her Wigmore Hall debut a few days earlier with her eponymous string quartet. For this recital she chose the enormously popular Devil's Trill Sonata (Tartini's Violin Sonata in G minor), a Schumann Phantaisie, and works composed or arranged by Joseph Joachim, who had been her teacher in Berlin.

The concert was shared with the soprano Mrs. Montague Fordham, who had recently given a few successful concerts around London, and also saw the very first appearance at Wigmore Hall of Fanny Davies, a student of Clara Schumann and frequent performing companion of Joachim, whose work as a soloist and chamber player was already highly regarded throughout Europe.
