Having won his reputation with his triumph at the International Chopin Piano Competition in 1970, the American virtuoso with a famously vast repertoire offers pieces by Chopin (whose complete piano music he has recorded), Brahms (whose major works he has similarly set down on disc) and a large-scale work by the late-Romantic Polish composer, dating from 1917.
