From the 14th to the 16th century, Eltham was an important royal palace where monarchs including Henry VIII often stayed and hunted in the surrounding parks. After centuries of neglect, Eltham was leased to millionaires Stephen and Virginia Courtauld in 1933. They built a cutting edge house with lavish interiors for displaying their vast collection of art and antiques, and integrated the great hall into the plans – the result was a masterpiece of 20th-century design.
The tour will last approximately 90 minutes then you will be free to explore the outstanding period gardens at your leisure.
