A familiar face on the British concert stage at the turn of the century, Helen Trust had performed in the inaugural concert of Wigmore Hall alongside Busoni and Raimund von Zur-Mühlen. Two weeks later she returned to give this mixed concert, assisted by fellow recital singers and the violinist Jessie Grimson, who had studied at the Royal College of Music and with August Wilhelmj.

Grimson came from a musical family – her sister Amy and her brother Harold Bonarius also performed many times at Wigmore Hall. In 1902 she founded the Jessie Grimson String Quartet in which Frank Bridge played second violin.

Also in this concert, accompanying songs by Massenet and Chaminade on the harp, was Miriam Timothy – a favourite musician of Queen Victoria who would go on to perform at the coronations of both Edward VII and George V.
