IMS Prussia Cove brings musicians of all nationalities together, providing outstanding opportunities for young artists and continued inspiration to world-class performers. Sir George Benjamin, the British composer whose first orchestral work was premièred at the BBC Proms when he was just 20 years old, wrote of his work Viola, Viola ‘a completely different instrumental character [from the viola] – fiery and energetic – imposed itself. My desire at times was to conjure an almost orchestral depth and variety of sound.’

  • Sir George Benjamin (b.1960)
        • Viola, Viola
  • Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847)
        • String Quartet No. 6 in F minor Op. 80
  • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791)
