In his further selection from the piano sonatas – works dubbed by Hans von Bülow the ‘New Testament’ of pianists, as opposed to the ‘Old Testament’ consisting of Bach’s 48 Preludes and Fugues – Jonathan Biss chooses some characteristically dramatic examples.
