Ever since her success at the first BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition, the Finnish soprano has enjoyed a top-ranking career which has seen her move audiences in the great concert halls and opera houses, as well as on disc, through her artistic integrity and distinctive vocal personality. With a leading collaborative pianist, she explores Kurt Weill, plus Poulenc’s tender monodrama to a text by Jean Cocteau in its version for piano accompaniment.
