An ensemble and conductor who have changed our perceptions of French Baroque music forever return with a programme focused on works associated with Louis XIII, who reigned from 1610 to 1643. Born around 1570 in Châteaudun in northern France, Pierre Guédron (who died around 1620) was a celebrated creator of airs de cour – the main form of secular composition at Louis’s court.
