Handel launched his career as an oratorio composer in England with this story of extraordinary courage in the face of persecution. Esther tells of the young Jewish woman who becomes queen of Persia and saves her people from extermination.
The London Handel Orchestra, performing on period instruments, and a stellar line-up of soloists bring the glories of Handel’s rousing score to life.
George Frideric Handel (1685-1759)
