‘Lucy Crowe dazzles with her every appearance,’ wrote The Sunday Times, ‘a young singer blessed with look-at-me-and-listen experience,’ while for The Independent she ‘brings down the house with a soprano artistry beyond compare.’ Her programme with the admired pianist is largely devoted to Lieder but also includes Judith Weir’s collection of four songs with ancient Taoist texts sung in English and premièred in 1999 in its orchestral form by Dawn Upshaw with Simon Rattle and the Boston Symphony.
