  • Marc-André Hamelin piano

Undoubtedly one of the exceptional pianists of our time is the Canadian virtuoso whose enormous repertoire is legendary and who has been described by The New York Times as ‘a performer of near super-human technical prowess.’ His latest CD is a collection of works, including the present sonata, by JS Bach’s son Carl Philipp Emanuel, whose expressively innovative music seems to point forward towards the even greater originality and ambition of such a figure as Beethoven.

  • Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (1714-1788)
      • Württemberg Sonata No. 2 in A flat Wq. 49/2
  • Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827)
      • Piano Sonata No. 29 in B flat Op. 106 'Hammerklavier'
