Beethoven and Schubert form the programme for Mark Padmore’s concert with one of the world’s leading pianists – like him an exceptional interpreter of the Viennese Classical tradition. Of a recent Wigmore recital by the pair, The Guardian wrote, ‘Of all the great piano soloists turned accompanists in this music, [Uchida] remains the most interesting. Padmore meanwhile made this a vocal journey of existential discovery alongside a textbook lesson in dynamics and the treatment of words.’
