The British pianist won the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition in 2014 and the following year went on to make his Proms debut playing Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. A number of the works in his programme – Bach transcriptions by Busoni and Myra Hess, together with the Wagner/Liszt Liebestod – form part of his first disc for Warner Classics, which The Observer considered ‘ambitious repertoire, thoughtfully and eloquently played […] a striking debut’.
