Six young period-instrument performers from Montreal, collectively known as Masques, have held North American and European audiences spellbound with their pulsating interpretations of Baroque music. They make their UK debut in this concert with works rooted in the stylus fantasticus, described by the 17th-century polymath Athanasius Kircher as ‘the most free and unrestrained method of composing’.
