A late string quintet by Max Bruch and Mendelssohn’s popular D minor trio frame two items featuring Wigmore favourite Roderick Williams: a selection of well-known Brahms songs clothed by master-arranger David Matthews in new instrumental colours, and Beethoven’s pioneering song cycle To the distant beloved.
