The Romanian-British soprano turns 70 this year and celebrates her birthday with a wide-ranging programme that brings music from her native country, songs written by friends composer Lennox Berkeley and critic George Hall, together with 19th-century songs and the bel canto showpieces that have been her operatic speciality.
