A popular programme from an ensemble named after the great 19th-century cellist Alfredo Piatti – a leading exponent of chamber music as well as a professor at the Royal Academy of Music, where its members trained. The group won no fewer than three prizes at the 2015 Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition – a feat that helped launch their subsequently widely successful career.
