Change of Artist and Programme
Due to personal reasons, unfortunately Alison McGillivray (cello) is unable to perform in the above concert. We are grateful to Poppy Walshaw (cello) for stepping in at such short notice. The programme has changed slightly and will now be as follows:
Archived
- Rachel Podger violin
- Brecon Baroque
For practical as well as artistic purposes, Bach was a great arranger and transcriber of his own music: the last two of this programme’s concertos, for instance, have come down to us as a work for harpsichord, and are heard here in a reconstruction of a lost original for violin.
