The Italian countertenor has won an international reputation for his wide-ranging exploration of the music of the Baroque, to which he has added some contemporary works. Together with his period-instrument ensemble he presents a programme focusing on the great Baroque master and his contemporaries Giovanni Paolo Cima (c.1570-1630) and (also an associate of Monteverdi) Dario Castello (1602-31).
