The Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin presents a colourful panorama of festive and intimate Baroque music with soprano Roberta Mameli. With its freshness and virtuosity, Handel’s Gloria is reminiscent of his Italian youth and was probably written in Rome in 1707. Porpora’s motet Stelle lucide is characterised by solemn intimacy. The finale of Vivaldi’s Psalm 112 is a true virtuoso piece for soprano.
