It was Beethoven’s patron Count Waldstein who predicted in 1792 that his young protégé would ‘receive Mozart’s spirit from Haydn’s hands’. Their benign influences as the young Beethoven’s great predecessors are celebrated in a programme in which the increasingly acclaimed Lancashire-born soprano joins Ticciati and his ensemble.
