Polish countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński, praised for his tonal beauty, captured international attention as winner of the 2016 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.

In this special concert, which marked 100 years since Poland regained independence following World War I, Orliński underlined his rising-star status with a recital of personal favourite songs and arias, including Pawel Lukaszewski’s beautiful setting of Maria Pawlikowska-Jasnorzewska’s poetry.
