'I am honored to be the Honorary Patron of American Friends of Wigmore Hall. I am thrilled to represent what is undoubtedly the leading international venue for song and chamber music and look forward to a long association as an ambassador for the Hall's American Friends.'Joyce DiDonato, Honorary Patron of American Friends of Wigmore Hall
American Friends of Wigmore Hall was set up to strengthen classical music ties between the UK and the US. Funded by its membership, the organization supports American artists and projects on both sides of the Atlantic, with a preference for those where there is a connection with Wigmore Hall.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, American Friends of Wigmore Hall was able to provide essential financial support for concerts throughout the Autumn of 2020, and hopes to continue to do so in 2021. As the world grapples with the Covid pandemic, many artists continue to struggle in finding work and securing live performance dates. Our support for Wigmore Hall is helping to ensure that they can perform and be paid their full fees. The broadcasts of these recitals, whether the Hall is open to audiences or not, has been a boost for so many people, all over the world.
All your donations will make a difference to the community of artists we know and love and ensure that emerging talent almost silenced by the pandemic can come to the fore in 2021. You can make a donation online via the Chapel and York Foundation with whom we are partnered to accept credit card payments or send a cheque to Marie-Hélène Osterweil, President of American Friends of Wigmore Hall at the address below.
